"SING,DANCE,ACT AND PLAY WHERE WILL YOU IMAGINATION TAKE YOU TODAY??"
Saturday sessions are 3 hrs for those in Year 3 and above, 1hr each of Singing, Dance & Drama.
SINGING
Students will have 1hr of singing, starting with technical exercises to improve range and breathing, then moving on to a wide variety of performances numbers
DANCE
In the 1hr Dance sessions, the students will be working on their technique and flexability, alongside learning varied Musical Theatre routines, (many of which that will also be sung).
DRAMA
The drama sessions will consist of improvisational drama games and exercises, creating scenes and characters and script work for older students. This is great for building general confidence as well as for performing.
We also have our Melodies Minis for pre-school & reception children, which is 1 hour and our infants class for year 1 & 2 students which is 2hrs
Thursday Classes are 90mins and also involve a mix of the above
PERFORMANCES
All our shows are custom written to provide the best showcase for our students, not just a few main parts.
We do bi-annual "big" shows, (so far we have done The Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland) in which children can audition for main parts, small parts or non-speaking parts, depending on their choice.
This year we are working on PETER PAN
On the alternate years we do a showcase, of scenes, songs and dances from Musicals, that features all classes and age groups equally, with which we then write a theme or a story to link them all together. This gives the students a better chance to work on their technique and performance skills in each discipline, whilst building confidence before the next auditionable show. We also believe it stops less confident children from getting lost in the crowd.
We also do a yearly Christmas Party and Performance, where all funds go to a Charity supporting the local area, and public performances at Summer and Christmas.
